Sei-ki in Hamburg: the power of no-agenda touch & safe hands
October 8 - October 10€390
Sei-ki is both simple and profound. We work to understand how life is for each individual person, without trying to fix them. This is powerful medicine.
Being truly present and recognizing the uniqueness of this moment with this person can take a lifetime to perfect, yet even a complete beginner can offer the quietude and space for change in their very first session. Anyone interested in touch and connection is welcome.
Sei-ki is part of the Japanese Shiatsu tradition, founded by Kishi Akinobu, senior disciple of Masunaga (founder of Zen Shiatsu).
This Sei-ki workshop will include the basics of Sei-ki touch for the beginner and experienced practitioner; Surrender with preparatory exercises for self and partnered practice; demonstrations; instruction; discussion and lots of practice. You will be relaxed, challenged and perhaps find a new home in this welcoming community.
Kishi Akinobu, the founder of Sei-ki, had a huge influence on Western Shiatsu; many practitioners and teachers point to him as one of the greatest masters of the art. In 1980, Kishi had a deep realization and stopped Shiatsu. What came out of a period of intense reflection and practice was Sei-ki. Alice worked with Kishi for many years, co-authoring Sei-ki: Life in Resonance, the Secret Art of Shiatsu, which was published a year before Kishi’s death in 2012 and has ensured the longevity of his approach. She has made it her mission to make the work accessible and Sei-ki is now coming of age. More and more people are appreciating the value and power of non-doing and, in this workshop, we will practice the discipline of non-dong and the importance of bringing this quality of attention and touch into professional sessions and for personal growth.
The workshop will be largely practical with short talks and discussion. Shiatsu practitioners are welcome as are those from other touch modalities or those interested in connecting and growing through skilled touch and connection.
This workshop is open to anyone interested in Sei-ki.
